Michael Spangenberg is Principal of Framework Architecture, a Sherbert Group partner. Michael specializes in Adaptive-Reuse Architecture and Planning, and Historic Preservation and Rehabilitation. Michael’s experiences range from the reactivation of the largest historic mills, to the rehabilitation of the smallest historic homes. A Detroit native and Lawrence Technological University graduate, Michael began his career preserving and modernizing historic homes throughout the Detroit-Metro area. His interests led him South to pursue his Master of Architecture at North Carolina State University, and to contribute to the exciting redevelopment efforts taking place across the Southeast. Before establishing his practice, Michael served as Project Architect at Belk Architecture in Durham, North Carolina. During his tenure, Michael served such notable projects as Drayton Mills in Spartanburg, South Carolina, The American Tobacco Campus in Durham, North Carolina, and Revolution Mill in Greensboro, North Carolina.
