The project utilized a unique financing combination of HUD 202 financing with Low Income Housing Tax Credits. This is the first project in the nation to combine these two programs together.
Sherbert Associates, PC was asked by Crosland, the developer, and Givens Estates, the owner, to perform the cost certification, subsequent tax form 8609, audit, and relating tax return of the project. Due to its unique nature, the reports required needed special attention and consideration as it incorporated governmental agencies such as HUD and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA), and the needs of private investors. The Sherbert Group provided reports that satisfied all the reporting needs of everyone involved in a timely manner.
